Most courses on pedestrians and bicycle design concentrate on best practices in mainly urban areas. This course dives into the principles of those best practices that can be developed into new innovative ways to improve pedestrian and bicycle design. Participants will also learn important design elements in suburban and rural settings, where multi-modal design changes significantly. If you think you knew everything you need to know about pedestrian and bicycle design, this course will show you that there is a lot more to learn.

Target Audience: All transportation professionals. The course will start with the basics and progress into advanced topics that all should understand.

Course Length

Each course is given in a span of 8.5 hours. In general, there will be an hour break for lunch and a 15-minute break in the morning and afternoon for a total of 7 hours of learning. The typical start time is 8 AM local time, but adjustments can be made as needed.

Location

We come to you! The location must be in a room that can accommodate all participants. The local coordinator needs to provide a projector, screen, and speakers. Internet access is preferable but not required. We will provide the rest.
